Nancy Drew in Concert!

Hello fellow sleuths! Once again, it's been a hot minute since I've written for the blog, but alas here we are again. Let's dive in to today's post!

Nancy Drew news has been sprouting up left and right thanks to HeR Interactive's fantastic marketing team. They've been teasing out ND34 for quite some time now as has been recently discovered. During my most recent livestream, I was joined by Calina of StoryRetold and Carter of The Nancy Drew Times and we tried to solve the latest clue from HeR. While we didn't solve it nearly as fast as some other people, we did make some other amazing discoveries. You can view the full VOD below, however here are the important highlights from the stream:

• ND34 is most likely taking place in Prague, Czech Republic
• HeR Interactive has been teasing ND34 since late summer/fall of 2022
• Calina of StoryRetold hinted that the ND34 may involve the Bohemian Crown Jewels
• The background of a social post from HeR dating back to September 2022 matches a real-life location in Prague
• and so much more!
  

April was such a crazy month, and I've got a feeling that May will be just the same. I'm very excited and happy with what HeR Interactive has been doing, sharing, and teasing. They've been so active in the community and it's been amazing to see. HeR, if you're reading this, thank you so much for all that you do!

Recently, Nancy Drew fan Mina, also known as @incorrectnancydrewquotes, got to create something that Nancy Drew fans have dreamed about: Nancy Drew music live in concert! She arranged music tracks from Nancy Drew: Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon for a symphony orchestra and got to perform it with a live audience in Sydney, Australia. Below you can view the full recording with high quality audio and visuals. Trust me, this is a spectacle I wish I could've witnessed in person! Perhaps more of the music will be arranged for a symphony orchestra in the future... we shall see!

In other Nancy Drew news, it was just announced yesterday (May 11, 2023) that there is a brand-new Nancy Drew musical in production for broadway! The show will be called The Mystery at Spotlight Manor and will have some well-known name attached to the production:

• Directed by James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Falsettos, Dirty Blonde)
• Book by Sarah Kernochan (Marjoe, Thoth)
• Lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde: The Musical, Mean Girls: The Musical)
• Music by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Enchanted, Tangled, Sister Act: The Musical, Newsies)

I personally am very excited about this production and am really hoping it will turn out well! It's going to be a period piece which also makes me quite pleased. There are no official dates, storyline, or cast information, but I'm sure those will be announced by the end of 2023/early 2024.
