Hello fellow sleuths! This morning, I had an interesting conversation with my uncle where we were trying to figure out the difference between calling something "vintage" and an "antique".
Turns out, there's more to it than just those words. According to an article from farmantiques.net, "Antiques are items which must be at least 100 years old." I honestly had no idea that there was such a difference, but apparently there is!
As the day progressed, I was perusing through Instagram (you can follow me here!) and found out that in the first 4 editions of Nancy Drew #27: The Secret of the Wooden Lady which ran from 1950-1966, it featured an illustration of Ned Nickerson smoking! NED! Because it was re-published in 1967, the versions that have Ned with a cigarette between his fingers are quite rare. In case you're wondering if you've got a copy, check to see whether or not you've got a dustjacket / solid blue binding. If you have either or both of those, you may be in luck! I'm definitely going to keep my eyes open for a copy! You can read more about it here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CZpoJyYP7vO/
That about wraps up today's post. Until next time, detectives!
