Hello fellow sleuths! I've been experimenting with Midnight in Salem a little bit, and thanks to a wonderful Nancy Drew fan, I've been able to "break" the game... First off I want to give a huge shoutout to Michel Loinik from the Russian Nancy Drew community as he was the one who told me about this fantastic tool that you can add to Unity games, specifically Midnight in Salem. Have you ever wondered what the "out of bounds" areas look like? Has your inner Nancy been dying to know what the inside of Mei's bedroom looks like? Well, thanks to this lovely little tool, I'm able to explore the complete world of MID. I recorded a video on breaking the game today, but it won't come out for a little bit. It's quite a long recording, and will take a little while to edit. Regardless, I will share some screenshots I took using the tool today! Check these out (click on the images to enlarge): Y'know, seeing these images on here make me think that doing a contest for best screenshot could actually be pretty cool... Maybe one day I'll look into it a bit further! While I think it's a great idea, the biggest roadblock would be accessibility. For many players, the game is difficult enough to run on its own, let alone installing the tool and learning how to use it. Who knows? Anything can happen!
That about wraps up today's post. Until next time, detectives! Huw
