NDW Phase 2

Wow. I honestly never thought I would be reigniting the NDW Blog. With the way things are looking for content creators on YouTube, and with the feedback I’ve gained from y’all on YouTube, I’ve come up with a bit of a plan.

Until the time comes for the FTC to decide whether or not they are going to take another look at the new COPPA regulations, I’m going to start to slowly shift the NDW YouTube channel to a different platform: a website and blog. Over the past many months (I think since May or June) I have been building a website for NDW. This blog is part of it. Should I need to mark all my videos as ‘made for kids’, then I will indeed continue to make videos, but I will have a comments section for each video as a blog post on here where people can freely discuss the video(s) I post.

Another reason for me bringing this blog back into the light is because I think that after Midnight in Salem releases, I won’t be making any more news videos for new Nancy Drew games. I’m hoping that I can keep the news going, but instead of making a video I’ll make a blog post. I’d love if I could make a bit of a different version of the Amateur Sleuth Blog. I’m also thinking that I will slowly stop making vlogs for the channel in the new year as vlogs are just video blogs, so I can just make them in text instead of video form.

I’ve been thinking about moving from YouTube to a blog for quite a while in regards to new Nancy Drew news and vlogs, and I think that I will officially begin that process in the new year. So until January 1st 2020 arrives, I will still be making vlogs and news videos, but after that there will be a shift. I will continue to make walkthroughs on the YouTube channel as there are still quite a few walkthroughs I would like to do. I am personally quite excited about this new shift and I hope you guys are too!

Stay tuned for more news on the website, the channel, and Midnight in Salem. There are a few older blog posts from when I originally started the blog back in 2016, so feel free to read those. I’m also going to be officially releasing my book How to Be a Detective on Monday November 25, 2019 for $26.95! It’d be great if you checked it out, and I wouldn’t complain if you decided to purchase a copy!
