Hello fellow sleuths! Today, I wanted to discuss a little project I worked on. Well, I didn't exactly work on it, I gave the idea to my old high school shop teacher and HE worked on it. Back in fall 2021, Nancy Drew fan Rika Kub Designs very kindly sent me a set of her medallion magnets based on the medallions from Treasure in the Royal Tower. I was super stoked when they arrived and shared it on my NDW Instagram page. They are easily one of my favorite items that Rika has made! I just need a better place to actually put them, haha! That's where my old shop teacher comes in. I went in to the local high school today and got him to make a little thing to hold the magnets so that they can be displayed either vertically or horizontally. It's not perfect by any means, but it does the job! We literally looked through the scrap wood bin for about 30 seconds, then I very quickly drew up where the holes for each magnet were to be drilled. I waited until he finished teaching the class, then he created what you see in the image above. It's seriously nothing special, but I don't mind it for now! Maybe one day I'll remake it. On a side note, Calina Herman of StoryRetold recently announced that she is selling her own ruby medallion pins on her Etsy shop! Click the image below to buy one for yourself. Nothing in this post is an ad for either of these wonderful creators, however I did want to shout them out for making beautiful pieces. Calina also threw in some very old and vintage stickers from HeR Interactive with my order which I'm very excited to see and share on the blog! I have no idea what they look like, but they're from 1997-1998 so I can't wait to see what they look like. Stay tuned for that!
Finally, I'll be recording the unboxing video tomorrow! Hopefully I'll have it edited and uploaded by day's end! That about does it for today's post. Until next time, detectives! Huw
