Hey everyone! Wow, what a day it’s been. So much stuff has happened and so much stuff is yet to happen! As most of you know, Midnight in Salem finally released today after 4.5 years after the release of Sea of Darkness. I was asked by HeR Interactive if I would want to help promote the game (which I of course said ‘yes’ to). I got my code for the game today just minutes before my first final exam started. Since the Wi-Fi at the school residence won’t allow me to download games from Steam, I went to Starbucks with my friend after the exam and we’re both just downloading Nancy Drew and Halo: Reach. Well, I’m downloading both, he’s only downloading Reach.
When MID finished downloading, I decided to boot it up and check it out (I didn’t actually start a new game). I checked the settings and decided to watch the credits. Let me tell you, those were the longest credits in any game HeR has ever made. But the thing that was most worth it was that at the end of the credits, they acknowledged the entire original team that had started work on MID. It was super sweet and as a fan it really meant, and still means, a lot to see that. They also played the opening intro to the games 26-32. It was a very bittersweet moment to realize that the old Nancy Drew and HeR Interactive were officially gone. It was just nice to have a cool little ending to it all. The contest I hosted that was sponsored by HeR Interactive (another huge shoutout to them) ended today and three people won a free copy of MID. Congrats to them as well! I will start making content for MID tomorrow. I’m really excited about it and can’t wait to dive head first into the game. I have a good feeling about it despite the graphics not looking great. I also have a good feeling about the future and I hope that HeR at least makes one more game. That’s it for today, I’ll see you tomorrow with my first content for Midnight in Salem! Have a wonderful rest of your day! Huw
