Hello fellow sleuths! I just wanted to pop in here and say that I've officially updated all the logos and branding for NDW for the first time since I started the channel!
I've been wanting to update the look of the logos and colors for quite a while now. The old logos were okay, but the fonts were stock and everything looked very flat. With the new logos, I'm able to look modern and clean and a bit more professional. I've also adopted the same typeface as the current Nancy Drew logo as used with Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem.
If anyone's curious, these two images are the old and new profile icons for NDW.
Something I was aware of, but didn't fully understand, was the scale at which I've used the old logo. I had to go into art files and websites and change images left and right. The YouTube channel got an overhaul, as did the website, the podcast, Instagram, and more. There's still a few other things I need to change, but overall I'm very happy with how this has turned out as of right now. Definitely a much needed refresh.
Some might be wondering why I don't update the silhouette to the one currently in use by HeR Interactive. My main reason is that this silhouette is classic Nancy to me. It's nostalgic of not only my childhood, but of HeR Interactive before the mass layoff in 2015 when the company changed forever. I'm not a huge fan of the new silhouette, either. It's too modern in my eyes. The silhouette I'm using at least maintains the classic Nancy style in both hair and dress, and also teases the magnifying glass.
What do you think of the new branding? Like it? Love it? Hate it? Let me know in the comments below! That about wraps up today's post! Until next time, detectives!
