Hello fellow sleuths! For a while, I've been wanting to add information to the website about the various Nancy Drew game bundles that HeR Interactive has sold over the years. Back in the day, they sold physical bundles of 2 or more Nancy Drew games with various titles such as Double Dare or Triple Threat. There isn't a huge amount of information available on these bundles as they were only available through retail outlets such as Walmart or GameStop. HeR never sold them on their website. Currently, they sell digital bundles, but nothing physical. It's partly due to the fact that the video gaming market has quickly transitioned to online markets over physical ones. Anyways, all that aside, I had the day off today and have been working on developing a list of all the physical Nancy Drew game bundles HeR has sold over the years and started creating art for the website for each bundle. It takes a lot longer than you might think. The biggest challenge I faced in the beginning was trying to figure out how much I wanted to display on each product thumbnail. Here's a couple concepts I drafted for the Double Dare thumbnails. Click on each image to enlarge it! I really wanted to try and replicate the style of the Double Dare box art for thumbnail, and I just felt these looked messy and amateurish. The final design I chose is the one below. It takes the information in the second concept and displays it in a way that I feel properly conveys to the viewer what they will be exploring when they click on the image. I also try and give a bit of a classic HeR Interactive feel to the art I create for the website, and I think this holds that style pretty well. The game pages for each game bundle won't be nearly as bountiful as the individual game pages, but they will have some key technical points that the viewer will find interesting. As for when these pages will be done, I don't expect to finish them for a while, so I'd say plan for them to be up by summer! By then, I should have collected enough images/information that will be of use. If anyone has any good quality images of any of the game bundles you own, please feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] and I'll consider adding them to the game pages when the time comes! I'll obviously give you a photo credit as well, so be sure to include your preferred name!
That about wraps up todays post. Until next time, detectives! Huw
