Fun Facts:
  • This was the first Nancy Drew game to have a theme song. This theme song variant was then included in the next 15 games before being changed for games 18-32.
  • This is the first game with 3D animated characters.
  • The character Millie Strathorn was designed around Mildred B. Benson, the original ghost writer of the Nancy Drew book series.
  • This game had two different cover arts: the initial cover art when the game released in 1999 for both Secrets Can Kill and Stay Tuned for Danger and then the cover designed by Mark Tolleshaug in 2000 when Message in a Haunted Mansion released.
  • The current cover art for this game is the only cover art that was a modified version of an unused 3D render from the original game. In other words, the cover art wasn’t digitally illustrated like all the others.
  • The colors on the cover art were different when it released from Dreamcatcher and from HeR Interactive. Dreamcatcher released a redder version of the cover art, then later changed it to a pinker version.
  • The final challenge music was slightly altered and reused from this game for multiple later games including Message in a Haunted Mansion and The Phantom of Venice.
  • HeR Interactive never wrote a strategy guide for this game. Only their publisher in 2001, Dreamcatcher Interactive, wrote a guide.
  • Stay Tuned for Danger didn’t get a game trailer until its re-release in 2016.
  • The original game color for this game was bright red.
  • Owen W. Spayder is listed in the cast credits, but never has a vocal appearance. He does appear on some viewable security tapes.
  • In Lillian's office, there's a business card for a faux HeR Interactive employee named Ms. Teri Gaime. When said quickly, it sounds like 'Mystery Game'.
  • Lillian has a copy of The Vampire Diaries and McKenzie & Co. in her office on one of her shelves.
  • On one of the first versions of the HeR Interactive website was an interactive demo of Mattie's apartment where you could click on various items to get more information about the game.
