A threatening note warns Katie to “stop meddling.” Apparently, Snake Horse Harbor is divided over an orphaned orca whale that recently appeared in the channel and has apparently decided to stay. What was a simple vandalism case begins to unfold into something more mysterious and sinister. Can Nancy find the culprit, or will she be too late to “Save the Whales?”

Fun Facts:
  • This was the final game to use the user interface (UI) design introduced in Secrets Can Kill.
  • In the game installer for a couple of the future games, it shows an unreleased box art concept for this game. The game number on the spine of the box was shown to be on the bottom of the side with the game title above it. However, when the retail cardboard box released, the game number was in the middle of the spine instead of the bottom.
  • The strategy guide HeR Interactive made for this game featured a new design for the back side of the guide cover. This trend continued until it was changed for the guide for Danger by Design. From games 6-8, the back of the strategy guides featured various graphical assets from in-game. Starting with Danger on Deception Island, it featured part of the cover art blended with the guide's backing. This same design choice applied to the retail cardboard box.
  • When you go clamming for Jenna, sometimes you will find items that are references to past games such as Malone's Bones from Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake.
  • Katie's calendar features art of the ghost dogs from the speakeasy in Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake.
  • When you make a fatal error in this game, the newspaper reads Deception Siland instead of Deception Island.
  • This was the first game to feature all the previous games on the back of the box in both a listed form and in image form.
  • Nancy has some tokens from Captain's Cove Amusement Park as well as a brochure from Beech Hill Museum in her suitcase.
  • Whale World was based off of The Whale Museum in Friday Harbor, WA.
