Fun Facts:
  • The creative director at HeR Interactive at the time, Max Holechek, voiced Nick Falcone after having searched through a number of actors to potentially play the character. They had even recorded lines for Nick with another actor and as they were putting the game together, they felt that the voice just didn't fit the character. HeR had to scramble to re-record the lines for the character.
  • This was the final game to use the original logo for ‘Nancy Drew’ on the box art, and the original design layout of the box art. The logo was intended to be used on Secret of the Scarlet Hand, but was changed at the last second to a new logo of the series. The original logo can still be seen when booting up Secret of the Scarlet Hand, but that's the only place it's still associated with the game.
  • This was the second of two games released in 2001.
  • The voice actress who played Maya was the wife of one past artist John Hayashi and asked that her name be left out of the credits in the game.
  • Simone Mueller comes up with the name ‘Samantha Quick’ as a stage name for Nancy. ‘Samantha Quick’ returns later on in the series multiple times.
  • The boxed releases of the game from Dreamcatcher all contained a first edition copy of Nancy Drew #162: The Case of the Lost Song. When you bought the game from HeR Interactive later on, they shipped the game in a DVD case which was too thin to allow space for the copy of the book.
  • In the secret passage from the men's dressing room to the women's dressing room, there's some graffiti on the wall that reads 'Snake wuz here'. 'Snake' was the original name for Sonny Joon before they changed it in Secret of the Scarlet Hand. It was also just an Easter egg that one of the developers put in, but they decided to run with it instead.
